Opto2008, the European exhibition dedicated to optical solutions took place in Paris-Nord Villepinte exhibition center in France from September the 30th to October the 2nd 2008.
Radiantis was presenting its new OPIUM HF (Hands-Free) system, absolutely hands-free femtosecond optical parametric oscillator, with gap-free tuning over the entire 490-2500nm range. The product was presented in a live-show on the Micro-Controle Spectra-Physics stand 1D30.
The OPIUM Hands-Free was pumped by a MaiTai HP with a laptop computer running the control software for both systems. The broad tuning range of the OPIUM Hands-Free and rapid automated tuning was demonstrated by running a continuous tuning loop for the entire three days of the exhibition.
The advanced control software and graphical user interface allow the user to dial in a wavelength and the OPIUM Hands-Free will precisely tune to the desired wavelength within just a few seconds. The real-time spectral shape of the output measured by the integrated spectrometer is displayed
, said Dr. Mike Yarrow, Radiantis development engineer.
Visitors were invited to see the superior quality of the internal components and the spectacular colours of the visible intracavity beam though a transparent window on top of the OPIUM Hands-Free.
The demonstration was extremely successful and sparked interest from the scientific community who welcomed the new OPIUM Hands-Free system with a very enthusiastic reaction.
